About Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club

Named after the Minnesota state motto, The Northstar State, Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club is an organization for Irish Wolfhound fanciers in the Midwest. We proudly offer two back-to-back annual AKC pointed Specialty Shows, cooordinate rescue services, provide educational seminars, and encourage many other activities designed to foster community.

Longtime Irish Wolfhound owners, those new to the breed, and those dreaming of someday owning an Irish Wolfhound are all welcome to join in club activities and to apply for membership.

MISSION STATEMENT

Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club is established to promote and protect the high standard of Irish Wolfhounds through breed specialty shows and matches held under the rules of the American Kennel Club. 

Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club is committed to the preservation and use of the breed standard as written by the Irish Wolfhound Club of America and recognized by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Irish Wolfhound's should be judged.

Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club will provide breed education to the public and our members and maintain an active rescue and placement program for Irish Wolfhounds.

Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club will guard against commercial exploitation of Irish Wolfhounds. Indiscriminate breeding is not in the best interest of our breed now or in the future and is in opposition to the general purpose of the club.

Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club will protect the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike behavior at dog shows, trials, and other public events.

Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club shall not be conducted or operated for profit, and no part of any profits or remainder or residue for dues or donations to the club shall inure to the benefit of any member or individual.
